What Are Your Peeps Doing?
Motivational speaker, Jim Rohn said, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” So, what are your peeps doing? Escaping from life? Grinding through life? Sleeping? Or living in an inspired, involved, connected way?
What they are doing, I bet you are doing too. Like it?
Time To Upgrade Your Circle
If you don’t like it, perhaps it’s time to upgrade your circle. Who do you want your closest people to be? Your work wife? Neighbors? Family? Old friends? New friends? Community members? All new people?
Put some real thought into it so you grow in the direction of your desires.
What Do You Want?
If you want to develop your photography (or insert a skill), perhaps you would be best served by joining a photography club or class so you can meet people who inspire and teach you.Do you want to be sober? Sober friends are a great start. They can teach you how to live a meaningful sober life.Do you want to make money? Maybe being around people who are successful at turning pennies into dollars is your jam. Find them! They are out there.Do you want to be authentic, safe, and connected? Consider joining my online community. That’s what we are all doing.
If your circle isn’t a reflection of you, or who you want to become, you’re swimming in the wrong pond. You can’t get there from where you are. You have to let go.
So put some serious thought into it.
What’s this phase of your life look like? Where are you headed? Do you have the chops to get there?
If not, upgrade yourself! You don’t want to be the weak link in the chain.
When I am expanding my circle, I am looking for people who are willing to challenge me. I don’t need an accomplice to sustain the status quo.
I want motivated people who are willing to take the lead or at least participate fully. It’s not fun dragging people around and pumping them up to have fun or to get their stuff done. When they come to the table enthusiastic, it makes me more excited so I have more to give. The circle of love just keeps flowing.
So, what do you want? Think about it, and then go get it!
